Curriculum Specialist, Sr. designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist, Sr. consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist, Sr. writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Position Summary
With a deep understanding of State Standards (including, but not limited to Arizona, Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina) and curriculum and instruction best practices, the Curriculum Specialist provides centralized curriculum support through the development of curriculum maps, pacing guides, instructional support resources, and intervention and enrichment resources. The Curriculum Specialist will proactively review school data and curriculum alignment to State Standards, and provide research and recommendations for further curriculum development. The Curriculum Specialist will also coordinate all processes related to testing services and supervise Testing Proctors. In addition, the Curriculum Specialist will ensure all test publisher procedure/policies are followed, all staff are credentialed and trained, and all testing is conducted in a clean, comfortable, honorable testing environment. This position requires a variable schedule including night and weekend hours as well as travel to all Charter One Southeast locations.
