     Position Overview:

    The Industry Insights Lead is a key player responsible for Circana’s relationship with Walmart’s Merchant Leadership team in one of the General Merchandise industries (i.e. Apparel, Hardlines). This individual understands the strategic vision of what Circana and the client are hoping to accomplish in their business and proactively finds opportunities to apply Circana information to address the client’s business issues. The individual will be viewed as a trusted advisor at the client impacting their business decisions.  Responsibilities include information analysis, delivering actionable insights, presentations, highlighting new capabilities, building new relationships, managing others, and identifying revenue opportunities.

    The ideal candidate must be able to conduct engaging and impactful presentations that deliver value to the client while telling a compelling story in a concise and polished manner to a diverse audience. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with Circana’s products and services, or be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.

    The ideal candidate must be comfortable and effective when talking with a broad range of decision influencers and decision makers within an organization. The candidate will be able to effectively understand and build relationships throughout the client's organization.

    The ideal candidate will be competent in managing their time and activities and must embrace our proven opportunity and customer management processes and systems. Candidates must possess a "can-do" perspective in their professional attitude. They will be detail oriented and demonstrate a strong work ethic. They will be sticklers for accuracy in their own work as well as their colleagues. They will be ready to back up their assertions with facts.

    Overall Responsibilities:

    • Manage and implement strategic approach to client, by developing relationships, understanding the client’s key initiatives, and bringing solutions to challenges and opportunities.
    • Develop a deep understanding of Circana’s product portfolio and their application in measuring markets, competitors, and customers.
    • Accurately interpret Circana data and clearly articulate insights to both internal and external audiences in written and verbal formats.
    • Manage, develop, and retain a great team that thinks long term and acts with urgency.
    • Create and execute Joint Partnership Plans with senior merchant leadership, building strong, ongoing relationships and establishing Circana as a trusted partner.
    • Leverage Circana Industry Analysts, Business Units and Corporate resources to improve the overall insights derived from Circana data.
    • Collaborate with the larger Circana Walmart team and internal business partners.
    • Influence Circana product strategy to meet the long-term needs of the retailer.
    • Handle inquiries around methodology and data validation across business areas.

    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a data-based client leadership role.
    • Deep understanding of how category syndicated data and analytics can be used to identify business building opportunities for client.
    • Comfortable managing expectations of multiple client teams. Demonstrated experience in influencing both external clients and internal stakeholders to achieve desired goals.
    • Exceptional organizational and project management/prioritization skills; ability to learn and juggle knowledge about multiple data sources and category/industry nuances.
    • Able to work successfully in a hybrid environment, managing relationships remotely and on-site at both our company and client’s offices.
    • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
    • An independent thinker, inquisitive, collaborative, adaptable, and accountable.
    • Business development experience desirable.  Retail experience a plus.
    • Proficient in all MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    • Ability to travel, typically <10%.

    The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.  An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $110,000.
