Position Overview

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key stakeholders within the US Navy to understand and define data strategy, IT strategy, and data governance requirements and objectives.
• Assess, design, and implement the data architecture and data management strategies to support the Navy's data initiatives, ensuring alignment with data governance principles and standards.
• Develop data models, data flows, and data integration strategies to ensure the integrity, security, and availability of Navy's data assets.
• Define and enforce data architecture principles, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and alignment with Navy's data strategy and IT strategy.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to IT teams involved in data strategy, IT strategy, and data governance initiatives, ensuring that data solutions support Navy's strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, data engineers, and other IT teams to develop and implement data solutions that support Navy's business goals and objectives.
• Conduct data architecture reviews and assessments to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for optimization in the context of Navy's data requirements and objectives.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and other IT teams to ensure that data solutions meet Navy's security, compliance, and performance requirements in alignment with data governance principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as an Enterprise Data Architect or similar role, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and implementing data architectures and data management solutions.
• Strong expertise in data architecture principles, data modeling, data integration, and data governance.
• Proficiency in data architecture modeling tools and frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Data Analytics) preferred.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
