    Purpose of the Position:

    Provides automotive services by performing inspections, repairs, maintenance, and installations efficiently, safely and according to quality and time standards set by the dealership.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Completes service and repair assignments correctly, to pass quality inspections or test drives, while documenting all steps involved in this process
    • Actively listens to concerns, takes action to respond to others needs
    • Promotes dealership by presenting professional image, positive attitude, and clean work area
    • Promotes a productive working relationship with others
    • Speaks clearly, concisely and effectively
    • Make all decisions and performs all actions in adherence to our dealerships core values of integrity, respect, accountability, dedication and community mindedness
    • Maintain production levels set by service management
    • Maintain manufacturer specific training certification levels set by management

    Daily Tasks:

    • Be at work station ready to start work at assigned time
    • Use dealer management system to track and document repairs
    • Complete multi-point inspection on every vehicle.
    • Test drive vehicles to verify customers concern and repair
    • Record all required diagnostic codes / measurements / information
    • Access repair information on manufacturer and other websites as required
    • Utilize technical assistance and other resources to diagnose vehicle
    • Perform accurate detailed vehicle diagnosis
    • Print and attach any supporting documents used to repair order
    • Work with parts personnel to obtain part pricing and availability
    • Repair vehicle using established acceptable repair procedures in a timely manner
    • Maintain cleanliness of customers vehicle
    • Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area and dealer owned equipment
    • Assist other technicians when required
    • Completes repair orders within specified time frame as directed
    • Notifies Shop Foreman and or Service Advisor if delays are expected

    Physical Requirements:

    • Moving about the dealership to complete auto service and repair
    • Using hand and/or power tools and equipment consistent with industry standards
    • Standing for 6 to 9 hours in a shift
    • Normal color vision and depth perception. Visual acuity correctable to 20/20
    • Ability to read information from printed sources and computer screens
    • Frequent bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, and climbing
    • Utilizing physical and manual dexterity, repetitive hand movements
    • Lifting up to 70 lbs unassisted. Assisting other employees to lift heavier objects

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or the equivalent
    • CDJR Level 3 certified preferred
    • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
    • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
    • Maintains certifications or licenses required by state law
    • Maintains certifications or training completion as required by vehicle manufacturer
    • Completion of technical school or other form of instruction or training
    • Owns tools required to perform repairs and services

This includes the ability to apply the appropriate technical knowledge necessary to complete automotive repairs and services. This involves understanding and applying appropriate technical knowledge and experience to perform automotive services including maintenance, diagnosis and repair, and installation effectively using dealership resources, such as tools, electronic and driveability equipment, to perform the job. Other skills include assisting in controlling costs and executing dealership policies and procedures to ensure customer loyalty.

    Salary: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
