Job Summary
The data technician is responsible for establishing and maintaining databases and providing secretarial support for the department. Prepares a variety of statistical reports/mail preparation, maintains translation service files, and performs miscellaneous administrative support duties as required.
Essential Functions
- Collects and compiles information and prepares selected technical and statistical reports. Performs audit of patient charges to ensure services are correctly captured and correctly credited.
- Provides technical assistance to department management, as assigned.
- Performs database maintenance, personnel training, ensures data integrity and assists department with system iterations.
- Completes multiple projects and special data requests.
- Prepares data for presentation and publication both internally and externally.
- Responds to ad-hoc requests for reports from department management and staff.
- Answers telephones and performs miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma
- Preferred Associate's Degree in Business/Computers or related field.
- 1 year of relevant experience data management. Required
- Working knowledge of basic statistic. Preferred
- 2 years of relevant experience Two years' experience in office coordination/secretarial support is required. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications (word, excel, access) with the ability to use formulas, data merge, develop charts and graphs, prepare documents, memos, and other communication documents. Required
