As an Algorithm Analyst, you will be required to enter and maintain algorithmic equations in Descartes Rate Management applications. The algorithm structure is like "If/Then" condition statements that are contained in various programming languages. During rate calculation, the algorithms are evaluated to determine the associated costs to move cargo from Point A to Point B. Additionally, a limited amount of customer interaction may be required to answer questions and to resolve calculation issues regarding business intent.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Position responsibilities are situated in the following domains:
* Convert and Maintain algorithms in Descartes proprietary applications.
* Ensure that processed data represents the customers true business intent
* Authorize updates that another team member has completed
* Interact with customers to resolve calculation related issues
* Perform quality assurance checks
* Monitor carrier governing charge filing activity

REQUIREMENTS
* 2-year Associate Degree or equivalent experience
* Strong analytical, clerical, and organization skills
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills: Excel and Word
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
* Ability to work under pressure to meet both short- and long-term deadlines

Location:This position is based out of our office in Pittsburgh, PA. Initial training is in office but the position is considered to be remote.
