The Role

The Director of Data & Insights will define the data and analytics strategy and data governance program for the organization. The director will manage and lead the planning, evaluation, and selection of the right data science capabilities for the enterprise and help distributed analytics staff to have the best data and analytic skills, processes, and technologies possible. The Director will serve as an advisor to the leadership team to develop and deliver enterprise-wide solutions for complex data challenges, including developing and applying algorithmic models to derive insights, improve decision making, and automate processes.

This role will report to the General Manager of Monkey Knife Fight and work alongside various teams including Marketing, Product, Engineering and Operations. This is an opportunity to join a relatively new and highly ambitious entrant to the North American igaming and sports betting market at the beginning of our growth journey!

What You Will Do:

• Identify and standardize the use and governance of data and analytics. This includes the governance of data and algorithms used for analysis, analytics applications and automated decision making. Create value by unlocking and sharing data and information in ways that will spur innovation.
• Develop and maintain controls on data quality and sources to effectively manage risk associated with the use of data and analytics. Strive to reduce the cost of managing data and increase the value of the data.
• Work with business and IT leaders to identify areas of technical needs for future data science capabilities. Drive the development and deployment of the data and analytics platform. Identify and prioritize business projects and enterprise data initiatives utilizing data science capabilities.
• Serve as the Data Analytics technical advisor. Represent the data and analytics team and enterprise data stewards at leadership meetings and conferences.
• Apply expert knowledge and mastery of advanced mathematics/statistical/computer science methods, theories, and standards to analyze enterprise results and reports, relevant external publications, and conference papers. Recommend and pursue collaboration and provide appropriate technical guidance to ensure the success of such collaborations. Interact with business areas and IT on data and analytics solutions.
• Lead strategy development for data and analytics products to ensure the program becomes pervasive throughout the organization and helps enable new revenue streams

Who You Are:

• 5 years of data analytics experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science or relevant
• Experience using SQL, Python, DBT, Tableau
• Experience with BigQuery is preferred but not required
• Interest in better understanding the bigger picture and the scope of the business
• Sound interpersonal and presentation skills
• Ability to take ownership of key deliverables and goals
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
• Expertise in establishing credibility with executives and key stakeholders
• Experience with e-commerce products is preferred
• Genuine interest in fantasy sports or sports betting is highly appreciated
