Data Science Manager manages teams tasked with identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies found in big data sets and used to develop insights by performing extensive data analysis. Oversees the interpretation of results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining. Being a Data Science Manager manages the design and implementation of big data solutions for the organization. Uses extensive knowledge and research into big data tools to guide data scientists' adoption and use of new and existing tools. Additionally, Data Science Manager typically requires a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Science Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     As a Manager (AI & Data Science) you will be part of the Deposit Modeling and Analytics team within the Treasury & Capital Market department.  The Deposit Modeling and Analytics team is responsible for data-driven deposit analytics, developing models for deposit forecasting and pricing, and generating deposit forecasts on a recurring cadence.  

    This role will give you the opportunity to analyze large scale and complex datasets. You are not afraid to get your hands dirty:  sorting out data issues, organizing datasets, using your math/stats skills to generate insights, developing new models, improving the efficacy of existing models, and solving problems is what you love to do.  With your strong programming skills, you will find scalable and robust solutions to automate and visualize our analytics.  In all these endeavors, you will cooperate closely with your team and other stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcome.

    What you have

    • Bachelor’s degree with a strong quantitative component (Applied Math, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Financial Engineering), a graduate degree is a plus (Master/Ph.D.)
    • Ability to develop new models, improve efficacy of existing models and rigorously test them.
    • Minimum of 3 years previous modelling/analytics work experience in a financial company
    • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and practical experience using statistical techniques to extract insights from large datasets
    • Strong programming skills in a modern programming language (e.g., Python, C )
    • Advanced experience in extracting data from relational databases (e.g., via SQL)
    • Strong work ethic, high self-motivation, proactive approach, and attention to detail
    • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
    • Collaborative team-player
    • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint

    What you'll do:

    • Develop robust models which measure the market risk in financial projections associated with a diverse set of deposit products across the balance sheet.
    • Support Balance Sheet and Product teams by enhancing existing and developing new reporting and analytical capabilities that describe the deposit portfolios.
    • Contribute to the future state of model development infrastructure and data patterns toward advancing AI/ML capabilities.
    • Leverage industry opportunities to expand the organization’s capabilities in data science, engineering, and modeling techniques.
