Control Room Operator - Hardin
Specific Plant/Project/Site: Hardin Generating Station, Hardin, M
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Acquire and maintain strong familiarity with all safety and environmental procedures, programs and policies.
· Administer and coordinate safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, etc. Specific responsibilities are detailed in the individual programs/procedures.
· Provide feedback to plant management on safety and environmental procedures, programs and policies which will assist in future revisions and increase their effectiveness.
· Make sure assignments for both operations and maintenance are communicated.
· Perform all operation and maintenance functions to ensure plant is always in a ready standby mode.
· Provide leadership to safely operate facilities on time and within budget.
· Solve problems as they arise.
· Perform water treatment testing and analysis with Field Operators.
· In cooperation with Field Operators, detect mechanical or electrical problems and submit work requests for the repair of these problems.
· Coordinate and cooperate with utility inspections.
· Perform emergency and casualty control procedures as required.
· Work overtime as required to maintain operational staffing and to assist in maintenance or major outages.
· Perform Preventative Maintenance as required.
· Follow up with employee training programs.
· Assist in evaluations as requested.
· Assist with project documentation control.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Record operations and maintenance activities in Control Room Log Book.
· Prepare weekly operations reports as directed.
· Continue to train and learn on both a self-directed and a class oriented training program.
Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities:
· Direct activities of Field Operators in the day-to-day plant O&M activities while on shift in the control room.
· Other supervisory responsibilities may be assigned.

· Desired skills/experience:
- Minimum 3 years in the operation and maintenance of power plants.
- Must have a Class 1 Boiler License
- Familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office Suite, including MS Word and Excel.
Educational Requirements/Preferences:
· Required education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
· Desired education:
- College education.
- First Aid/ CPR training.
Required/Desired Licenses, Certifications, Registrations, etc.:
· Written system operation test
· Oral review board capability demonstration
· Must have a Class 1 Boiler License
· Required O&M training in accordance with the Hardin O&M Training Policy.
· Valid Driver’s License.
