Salary Range: $104,928 - $116,700 Annually
This position is hybrid/telework eligible. The candidate of choice must be available to work in the Tumwater, WA office at a minimum of one day per month, and additionally as requested.
Are you a seasoned data manager with an in-depth knowledge of modern database and information technologies? If so, the Senior Data Systems Manager role within Research and Data Analytics (RDA) team at the Washington State Department of Corrections may be ideal for you! As the Senior Data Systems Manager, you will work with the Infrastructure team, other RDA staff, and stakeholders to design and develop needed data infrastructure, ensure appropriate confidentiality and security of data, develop standards of operation for handling data, and provide data that inform DOC policy and legislative analysis, research, program monitoring and evaluation, and performance measurement.
The Senior Data Systems Manager provides expert consultation to the Chief Data Officer, RDA analysts, Information Technology staff, and other key stakeholders on issues related to providing consistently accurate, timely data to inform operational and strategic decision making. You will assess DOC administrative data systems and external data sources that support the agency’s operational, research and strategic efforts, develop and implement data integration plans and data cleaning models, and ensure efficient, accurate data delivery to RDA staff and internal and external customers.

Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
