Come join us and find the keys to your future!This position is in the Information Technology Department of the Application Shared Services Unit, Headquarters, Blythewood, South Carolina.Responsibilities of the Database Administrator II• Manages the SCDMV SQL Server Relational Database (non-production and production) systems.• Monitors, measures, and analyzes system performance related to the RDBMS and take necessary action to maintain optimum performance and maximum on-line availability.• Determines appropriate database technologies, models, and storage architecture to ensure database systems maintain data integrity and are effective.• Plans and manages projects of diverse scopes, complexity, and timeframes.• Ensures adequate DB backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures are developed, tested, documented, and implemented. • Works with SCDMV management and other SCDMV DBAs to develop data base standards, including security measures to manage/authorize access to SQL databases per users/roles. Ensure data security and protection techniques. • Ensuring database related software is at supported releases and patched with security and system updates in a timely manner.• Reviews and determines SCDMV DB reporting requirements in conjunction with system users, oversees development and maintenance of user and management reports and on-line queries, develops data warehousing and data mining capabilities as required.• As a member of the information security incident response team (ISIRT), utilizes available network and software tools, DMV policies, processes and procedures to detect, identify, troubleshoot, isolate, and correct data/equipment/network related security issues. • Assists other ISIRT team members and responds to emails. ISIRT team members will ensure the CIO and ISO are informed of all actions performed or needed. • Documents incident on the tracking log.• Promote positive teamwork and productivity within the team.• Performs other related duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
    Minimum RequirementsA bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field and experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support, or the support of complex database management systems. Related experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.Additional Requirements• Strong working knowledge of RDBMS and tools and system design methodology.• Must be capable of working with IT application staff and business analysts to create adhoc, FOIA, and regulatory reports.• Experience in PowerBI, SSRS, PowerShell and Microsoft Access.• Experience preferred in client/server environment with MS SQL RDBMS and design, development, maintenance, and reporting tools.• Knowledge and experience working with Oracle RDBMS is a plus but not required.• Ability to interface with technical staff in the design and support of database management systems. Under general supervision reporting to IT Database Manager.• Will be required to work overtime and on weekends as required.
