Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for application support and integrations. Primary functions include planning, analysis, integrations, and maintenance of applications including but not limited to Ellucian Banner (ERP), ESM, Jenkins, DegreeWorks, Banner Document Management, and Clean Address. Job functions will include supporting, managing, and installation of Banner upgrades, cloning databases, and ERP backups. Collaboration with other technical staff in managing the Oracle database systems and supporting tools including but not limited to: Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Application Servers, Tomcat Application servers, Shell scripting and the Ellucian (Banner) ERP and all interfaces between the ERP and third-party systems are key elements of this role. This position is a member of the Administrative Information Services Team, which focuses on direct services and support for students, faculty, and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Oracle database administration highly preferred. At least 2 years experience with Oracle Database (version 12.2 or higher) and Oracle Application Server. Programming experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
- Oracle Certified Professional training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to implement or modify complex application systems, coordinate significant projects, expensive resources, and collaborative effort to achieve organizational goals – with great attention to detail
- Ability to make prudent, fair, and sound decisions while anticipating results, direct and indirect
- Self-motivation and self-direction; ability to work independently; ability to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to take direction; ability to participate in group planning processes; ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments, initiatives and priorities; ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies, tools, techniques and methodologies. Open to change.
- Poise and polished interpersonal skills, and the ability to listen carefully and patiently to disparate concerns of multiple constituencies. Strong oral and written communications skills. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues with different areas and levels of technical expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Integration experience with software applications highly preferred. Ability to develop highly complex integrations solutions and overall architecture of institutional data.
- Linux, Tomcat, Jenkins, GIT experience highly preferred.
- Experience with ERP administration. Experience with Ellucian’s (Banner) administration highly preferred, specifically managing and implementing Banner upgrades.
- Work experience in higher education and an understanding of higher education business practices preferred.
- Strong familiarity with a broad range of information technology concepts—including concepts associated with enterprise level information technology infrastructure.
- Experience with Database security, especially user access controls, application or user privileges, profile or role-based grants, auditing, and authentication methods.

The anticipated salary for this position is $85,000.00
