Job Description:
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
To negotiate with customers and execute and comply with all stated contractual and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for contract, subcontract negotiations, and associated change orders.

Acts as Gichner Shelter Systems agent in signing contracts within set dollar limitations.

Communicate contractual requirements to the functional team.

Acts as a facilitator in internal and external meetings
-
Responsible for correspondence with the customer regarding all contractual issues.
-
Responsible for submittal and tracking of contract reports and data items.
-
Directs invoicing of contract data items and milestone billings.
-
Responsible for contract close-out.
-
Initiates warranties and claims investigation.
-
Provides support to Contract Managers.
PROBLEM-SOLVING

A moderate level of analytical ability is required, but the complexity level is limited for problems that require a moderate level of knowledge in contract administration.

Fact-finding and analysis are frequently required as information is not always easily available; it requires some judgment in resolving problems within a framework of standard practice.
DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY

Duties, objectives, and results are generally specified and in accordance with well-defined policies/procedures or precedence. Incumbents must frequently prioritize and organize work and occasionally deviate from established procedures in order to accomplish results.

Gichner’s reputation is enhanced by good performance. Poor performance will likely result in additional expenses and significant damage to customer relations.

Overall work is reviewed primarily for adequacy in meeting objectives.
LEADERSHIP

Requires coordination of Gichner resources and activities due to multiple and conflicting demands.

Contact within the organization requires negotiation with other teams to gain acceptance of ideas in adversarial or potential conflict situations.
Experience and Skills:

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Two-year college/university degree in Business or equivalent experience

Two years related experience in contract administration.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Office environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
