Database Engineer plans, designs, develops, and manages an organization's databases to ensure efficient data storage, access, and security. Collaborates with users to design, code, test, debug, and deploy databases that meet requirements and organizational needs. Being a Database Engineer writes queries, stored procedures and functions for database development. Monitors databases' performance, scalability, and security and modifies procedures to optimize database designs. Additionally, Database Engineer evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates, performance tuning, and integration requirements. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of database technologies and solid coding and computer system skills. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Database Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Database Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Actively participate in product owner meetings to clearly identify goals for data needs and management
- Design, implement and manage large database systems and programs (to include PowerBI)
- Management of routine MS SQL database operations and maintenance
- Implement database performance metrics measurements, track and analyze data
- Optimization of database performance and efficiency
- Assist with data modeling and database design
- Analyze data archival requirements and implement data archival processes
- Keep documentation of AWS database resources and configurations up to date
- Design and implementation of complex data models
- Perform functional analysis and allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships
- Develop Change Requests per established guidelines.
Required Skills and Experience - 5 years DBA experience
- Hands on DBA experience
- Must have SQL development experience
- Must have relational DB experience.
- DB management of MS SQL
- Experience in a high paced DevOps environment
- Experience in large scale Enterprise environments
- U.S. Citizenship required for this position.
Professional Certifications AWS certification highly desired Years of Professional Experience 5 years of DBA development experience
