Day Care Center Teacher oversees the educational activities within the day care classroom. Qualifications:
Ability to manage employees providing services and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
B.A. degree in Education, Psychology, Human Services, or an equivalent field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities that exhibit maladaptive behaviors. A minimum of 2 years of management experience. Ability and willingness to complete Personal Control Technique training. An understanding of and appreciation for ABA therapy.
Responsibilities:
-1. Provide overall management of the daily operations of the Achievement Center.
2. Ensure the development of service plans in collaboration with other team members, for each person serviced in the Achievement Center.
3. Participate in and/or conduct meetings, trainings, and/or conferences related to served individuals, their families, the department, agency, or other pertinent issues.
4. Hire, terminate, supervise, discipline, train and evaluate the Achievement Center staff, substitutes, interns, and volunteers.
5. To ensure that the service plan goals for each participant are implemented, progress is documented, and that goals are periodically reviewed and updated as necessary.
6. Assume administrative and fiscal responsibilities at the Achievement Center.
7. Supervise the care and maintenance of the facility and ensure a safe and clean environment.
8. Coordinate and/or provide transportation to appointments and services.
9. Provide personal care such as feeding, toileting, changing, showering, lifting, or performing wheelchair transfers as needed or required.
10. Use appropriate intervention, assume responsibility for, and complete all reporting procedures in an unusual incident and/or emergency situation.
11. Implement Behavior Support Plans as needed.
12. Assess the abilities of served individuals through observation and assessment tools.
13. Adhere to the approved budget for Center expenses.
14. Utilize appropriate personal control techniques when deemed necessary by established criteria.
15. Complete all necessary documentation and electronic billing in a timely manner.
16. Perform any other duties as assigned.
