Dean of Arts and Sciences manages administrative functions of the college of arts and sciences. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Arts and Sciences leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Arts and Sciences requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Arts and Sciences manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Arts and Sciences typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking qualified candidates to teach as part-time resource faculty. Availability will depend on the needs of the university each semester: therefore, you may not be contacted immediately. Credentials will remain on file for 1 year from the date the application is submitted. At that time, current applicants will be asked to re-apply.

    Adjunct faculty positions are part time temporary assignments that are based on the needs of the university.

    Requirements

    Minimum requirements for most subject areas include a master's degree in the discipline and/or a master's degree with 18 hours in related discipline. College level teaching experience and/or terminal degree desired. Salary based on degree and experience, paid on credit hour basis.

    Working Conditions

    * Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
