Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Continuing Education typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.      Participates in college committees and performs public service on behalf of the college. Professional Development: Invests in honing professional and personal competencies to strengthen expertise in the subject matter, thereby reinforcing the currency and relevance of our curriculum and securing student success. Engages in continual skill enhancement through various avenues, such as attending seminars, workshops, and conferences, embracing emerging trends, publishing research findings, and sharing insights with fellow educators. Remains proactive in acquiring new knowledge and expanding teaching methodologies, certifications, and holding a current Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certificate, resulting in improved instruction and elevated student achievement. Employee organizes classroom, maintains office hours, submits reports and records promptly.

     Computer Information Technology degree or related discipline, along with computer training and project management experience, is preferred, coupled with a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification. However, relevant experience may be accepted as a substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.Computer information technology degree or related discipline, Management Information Systems, or related field combined with three (3) years of relevant experience and project coordination and execution, including Hands-On exposure to computer hardware and software into an implementation project s complemented by a project management professional (PMP certification.
