Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. New London Local Schools, located in Huron County, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as our Athletic Director and Dean of Students within our school community. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our athletic programs while also ensuring the holistic well-being and development of our student body. The successful candidate will embody leadership, integrity, and a commitment to fostering a positive educational environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of athletic programs in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW).
Supervise coaches, athletic staff, and student-athletes, promoting excellence in both academics and athletics.
Coordinate scheduling, transportation, and facilities management for athletic events and practices.
Manage the finances of the athletic department, including budgeting, fundraising, and expenditure tracking.
Collaborate with school administration, faculty, and parents to promote the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.
Serve as a liaison between the school, community, and relevant athletic organizations.
Oversee compliance with all OHSAA regulations, including eligibility requirements and safety protocols.
As Dean of Students, foster a positive school culture by promoting student engagement, behavior management, and conflict resolution strategies.
Provide guidance and support to students in matters related to academic performance, attendance, and social-emotional well-being.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of successful experience in the field of education, with a demonstrated commitment to student development and achievement.
Experience coaching athletic teams, with a proven track record of success.
Strong understanding of OHSAA rules and regulations, as well as state and local educational policies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in computer skills, including Google Apps for Education and sports management software.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Master’s degree in school administration or a related field preferred, but not required.
Valid Ohio teaching license and/or administrator certification.
