Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Continuing Education typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus is now accepting applications for Part-Time Continuing Education Instructor - ESOL. The Adult Education Instructor is responsible for teaching ESOL in the classroom and in the lab up to 25 hours per week. The individual will be part of a collegewide team of Adult Education instructors and assist in developing curriculum, selecting textbooks, software and materials.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Maintains a high quality program of instruction.
    • Works with Recruitment and Retention Specialists to develop best practices and learner oriented strategies to maintain high rates of retention and measurable success.
    • Assists the Program Director in recruiting, training and monitoring part-time instructional personnel and tutors.

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution with three (3) years of relevant teaching experience; or Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of relevant teaching experience.
    • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to use computer applications.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments.
    • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.
