Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Job Description:
Through this newly created position, the Dean of Education at Rodale Institute will oversee the creation, development and execution of all educational initiatives, including farmer training, a forthcoming agriculture professional services tract, consumer education, field days, workshops, webinars and all educational initiatives at our main campus and regional campuses. This candidate will have a strong knowledge of the organic certification and inspection market, a background in creating and executing on-line and in-person educational products, content creation acumen, and experience in creating educational curriculum, as well as have excellent written and oral communication skills. The Dean of Education will work very closely with the Director of Marketing and Director of Education and will also work alongside of the Chief Scientist to raise Rodale Institute’s profile and prestige among other universities and learning institutions.
