Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Position Summary:

    Are you ready for an Alaskan adventure? Come join our dynamic, student-focused team at the University of Alaska Southeast. We are a destination of choice for 2000 students across three campuses in Southeast Alaska, with online and in-person programs. The Dean of Students position is responsible for the oversight of the following campus life services on our Juneau campus: Residence Life (Housing and Dining), Student Engagement and Leadership, Recreation, the Health Clinic, and the Native and Rural Student Services.

    This position also oversees the regional services for Counseling, Disability Services, Student Conduct, and behavioral support and intervention services. Duties will include direct supervision of professional staff, process management, policy development and enforcement, customer service, budget development, health, safety, and welfare coordination, and leadership and representation of student services and the student experience to a wide variety of constituents. The position includes the option of a 2-bedroom townhouse apartment on campus (pet-friendly) plus a meal plan in exchange for participation in the on-call rotation.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in a relevant field and six years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Valid Drivers License and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

    Position Details:

    This position is located on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 84, based on education and experience.
