Dean of Engineering manages administrative functions of the college of engineering. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Engineering leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Engineering requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Engineering manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Engineering typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     DEAN OF ADMISSION

    The Dean of Admission is a member of Berkshire’s senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Head of School, and is responsible for providing strategic leadership of student recruitment, financial aid, and admission efforts; oversight and coordination of the current admission program and initiatives; and support for Berkshire’s continued institutional growth through enrollment. As a central member of the School’s leadership team, the Dean of Admission should expect to be involved in every aspect of the School’s program. The ideal candidate will bring to the position the ability to energize, inspire, and lead others; demonstrated experience with and understanding of strategic enrollment management and current trends; and a passion for engaging in all aspects of school life. The Dean of Admission is a full-time, exempt, full-benefits, 12-month senior administrative faculty position. Salary and benefits are competitive and include year-round, school-provided housing. Professional development funding is available to support advanced degree work and student loan repayment assistance, as well as participation in professional conferences, workshops, and summer study.

    Roles and Responsibilities


    • Lead a comprehensive and strategic committee process designed to admit and enroll Berkshire's strongest cohort of incoming students.
    • Manage and lead the admission process from inquiry to enrollment, especially focusing on outreach and yield strategies.
    • Mentor and develop an admissions team of 12 admission officers and support staff to ensure the strongest experience for families as they engage in the admission process.
    • Attend school fairs, visit feeder schools, serve regularly on panels, and attend other admission events.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with feeder schools, consultants, and current families to determine effective markets, both domestically and internationally.
    • Partner with the Head of School, Chief Financial Officer, and Board of Trustees to support the School’s strongest enrollment effort.
    • Partner with the Head of School, Associate Head of School, Dean of Students, Dean of Faculty, Dean of Academics, Director of Athletics, and Director of College Counseling to design enrollment and retention strategies that support the holistic development and success of all students.
    • Partner with the communications and marketing office to design and develop effective print, digital, website, and social media platforms in support of admissions.
    • Liaison with the Trustee Committee on Admissions and Marketing throughout the year, including three trustee meetings annually.
    • Track national and school-specific admission trends and analyze data to support strategic, innovative, and data-driven decision making.
    • Commit to professional development, maintain a presence for Berkshire, and present at leading national conferences within the industry.
    • Serve as an Advisor to 4-6 students.
    • Coach one season in the athletic/afternoon program.
    • Serve as a Duty Administrator.

    Requirements


    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree preferred.
    • Five years of previous experience with admission, financial aid, and enrollment management.
    • Previous experience and familiarity with independent boarding schools is preferred.

    • Strong technological, database, and presentation skills.
    • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
