Dean of Humanities manages administrative functions of the college of humanities. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Humanities leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Humanities requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Humanities manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Reporting to the Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), the Public Relations (PR) Coordinator is a part-time position that serves as a support for the CHSS Dean’s Office. The PR Coordinator will be primarily responsible for collaborating with members of the Dean’s Office, as well as Chairs and Coordinators within the College to draft and execute a strategic PR plan for the College. Using all forms of media including written and electronic, the PR Coordinator will organize and monitor publicity efforts that advance the mission of the College and create a uniform identity for the College.
The following describes the general duties and responsibilities of the PR Coordinator. This document does not cover all job expectations or specific procedures for completing these responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Expected Time Commitment: The PR Coordinator is part-time position that constitutes a 20-hour per week commitment. The position will involve occasional commitments that fall outside of the agreed upon schedule. Weekly hours will be adjusted to accommodate these commitments.
Contract Term: The start date for the position will be discussed upon hire. The contract term will run until Sunday, June 30th, 2024. Continuation of employment may be possible if funding allows.
Supervision and Evaluation: The PR Coordinator is supervised by the Associate Dean of CHSS. Regular formal and informal meetings with the Associate Dean will promote a culture of collaboration and ongoing feedback.
