Position Title: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Milwaukee Metropolitan Area

Reports to: Operational Manager

Position Purpose:

The Pharmacy Technician's role is often the driving force behind successful pharmacies. The Technician's main duty is to process and fill prescriptions. The Technician will also arrange the pharmacy environment for business operations by turning on the equipment such as computers. printers, and scales; greet customers; measure and label medication; help process payment; help control inventory and stock shelves; and enter data into a computerized system. The Technician will work directly with a Dispensing Pharmacist and Operations Manager to provide excellent customer service.

The company operates robust community-based pharmacies that offer award-winning services such as medication packaging, medication management, and free prescription delivery. Hayat Pharmacy focuses on providing opportunities for customers to achieve high quality health outcomes through access, education, and in-home consultation, and in building and maintaining strong relationships with community medical providers and other external stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

• Clean surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening.
• Greet customers in person or by phone and respond to any questions they may have, or refer to the pharmacist as appropriate.
• Process prescriptions electronically, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
• Resolve issues when they arise, such as a rejected insurance claim.
• Receive and review prescriptions. Read medication orders, prepare labels, select the appropriate medication, measure dosages. Fill and present prescription to the pharmacist for final verification.
• Perform monthly inventory counts and assist with maintaining adequate supplies of medications. Ensure orders are correct and match the invoice. When new medications arrive, sort, stock, and label medications. Check for expired medications. Must be able to use cash register.
• Follow operation policies and procedures including but not limited to the opening and closing procedures.
• Comply with safety measures by adhering to infection-control procedures.
• Comply with quality standards by following set process, policies and privacy regulations. Ensure the third-party logistics/carrier's process are followed.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or the Pharmacist.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Associate degree in Pharmaceutical Technology or certification for Pharmacy Technology preferred.
• Must be registered/licensed with the Board of Pharmacy in the state employed
• 2 or more years of customer service experience in a pharmacy, retail or medical environment. Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with a resilient attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrable dependability and customer-focused attitude.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills and the ability to learn software programs.
• FLOATER: Must be able to travel 80% of the time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
