Dean of Sciences manages administrative functions of the college of science. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Sciences leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Sciences requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Sciences manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. SUMMARY
The Dean of Students serves as a member of the Donald Ralph Cooke School’s administrative team and assists with the daily operation of the school, specifically in the areas of attendance, behavioral, and disciplinary prevention and intervention services. The Dean of Students needs to embrace an inclusive philosophy and demonstrate experience or willingness to train for the implementation of Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) methods. The Dean of Students will act as direct supervisor to the Youth Care Assistant assigned to the school and any other staff assigned to them by the Director of Education. Other activities and responsibilities may be delegated by the Director of Education. The DOS is directly responsible to the Director of Education. This position is not eligible for overtime pay.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required for this position. A degree in Education, Social Work or a related field is preferred. At least 2 years’ teaching experience or 2 years of experience working with at-risk youth and behavioral intervention in a residential care setting is preferred.
