    Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management (VPSSEM), the Dean of Students is responsible for administering college policies and procedures regarding students' rights and responsibilities and working collaboratively with key stakeholders to provide extensive wrap around support services that promote student access and retention.

    As a member of the Student Services and Enrollment Management Team (SSEM), the Dean is expected to partner with faculty, staff and students to create an inclusive campus climate that champions inclusion, support development and accountability; provide consultation regarding student conflict resolution; establish meaningful connections between the curricular and co-curricular offerings of the College; and assist in the development and implementation of services designed to enhance student success.

    The Dean of Students, working collaboratively with the Title IX Coordinator, serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator; stays current on best practices, compliance, and legal precedents at all regulatory levels; develops and assesses education programs for students related to conduct; assists with divisional assessment activities; serves as a liaison to partner institutions; and responds to College emergencies.

    The Dean serves as the Chief Student Conduct Officer and provides high-level leadership and direction to the College for the integration and enhancement of health and well-being initiatives across campus. Supervises the Senior Special Programs Coordinator for Health & Wellness Education, and Senior Program Coordinator of Basic Needs. Also supervises the Women's Center and Student Life Coordinators.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Serves as Chief Student Conduct Officer, including overseeing the adjudication of potential violations of the Student Code of Conduct and the development of systems and procedures in the adjudication process.
    • Recruit, train, and advise the College Judicial Board and organize the Code of Conduct review process.
    • Serves as liaison in response to conduct and/or conflict matters; provides consultations and training for faculty, staff, and students and makes appropriate referrals.
    • Serves as Chief Student Grievance Officer for the College; assists students in understanding their rights and responsibilities as members of the College community.
    • Provides leadership for issues involving student emergencies and crises; co-chairs the Campus Assessment Responses and Evaluation (CARE) Team and works closely with the College Police regarding student safety issues and concerns.
    • Responsible for the training and supervision of Senior Special Programs Coordinator for Health & Wellness Education; Senior Special Program Coordinator of Basic Needs; the Coordinator of Student Activities and Student Life staff; and the Women's Center staff.
    • Plans, develops, implements, manages, and evaluates the College's Canvas Orientation course and in-person new student orientation.
    • Serves as a catalyst for the development of initiatives and programs that are directed toward enhancing student development and the celebration of their successes and achievements.
    • Administers the emergency funds within the United Student Fund.
    • Serves as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator (for students).
    • Assists the Title IX Coordinator in overseeing the collection of and response to Title IX reports of sex discrimination and sexual misconduct received by or about students.
    • Assists in other aspects of implementing Title IX, including ensuring compliance with required training.
    • Develops and implements policies and procedures relating to student issues/grievances and ensures their publication in the College Catalog and Student Handbook.
    • Assists the VPSSEM and community partners in developing, promoting, evaluating, and implementing initiatives.
    • Assists with division assessment activities and in ensuring Student Affairs programs and services are in compliance with state and federal laws and College policies.
    • Works with Early College to implement Youth Learner Policy and Procedures.
    • Assists with New Student Orientation and commencement.
    • Represents the VPSSEM in their absence.
    • Attends internal and external meetings when appropriate.
    • Serves on committees as appropriate.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements:
    • Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
    • 5 or more years of experience in student affairs.
    • A minimum of 2-years of experience adjudicating student conduct cases in a higher education setting.
    • Demonstrated experience in supervising professional staff.
    • Demonstrated competency dealing with diverse and complex student issues.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and parents, as well as a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with crisis intervention and management, and conflict resolution.
    • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and concerns of a diverse student population.
    • Knowledge of relevant law and legal issues (FERPA, Clery, Title IX, ADA, ongoing legislation and case law); and experience with an educational philosophy of student conduct.
    • Demonstrated understanding of under-represented groups and initiatives that enhance inclusive efforts.
    • Ability to plan, organize and facilitate existing and new programs for students.
    • Ability to apply student development theory with the philosophy of educational discipline.
    • Experience with Maxient Conduct Management Software.
    • Experience in a Community College.

    Non-unit Professional, full-time state funded with benefits.

    Hours: 37.5 per week

    Salary: $107,617 - $139,901 (annually), commensurate with education and experience.

    Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites
