Dean of Undergraduate Programs manages administrative functions of the undergraduate program. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Undergraduate Programs requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Undergraduate Programs manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Assists with day-to-day operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Shelves books, magazines and other materials in proper order and location. Monitors activities within facilities and assists in maintaining order. Records attendance. Assists with set-up and breakdown of equipment for events and activities. Assists with group activities within several different facilities. Posts announcements of scheduled activities. Answers questions pertaining to events, programs, classes, and activities. Checks out equipment to customers and verifies condition upon return. Performs minor maintenance and proper cleaning of equipment and facilities. Assist customers in all aspects of Community Programs and Resource Center business to include locating required information, registering for classes and activities, reserving facilities for private functions, meetings, etc. Performs routine clerical tasks such as answering the telephone, taking messages, and referring callers or visitors to the appropriate staff member. Collects fees, makes change. Completes appropriate administrative documents. Assists in implementing programs. May be required to open and close facilities. Assist with a variety of tournaments to include billiards, ping pong, dominos, spades, etc. Documents and/or reports equipment, facility and program problems and issues to supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to demonstrate experience or knowledge which provides a general procedures followed in leisure, recreational, and group programs. Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring activities such as bending and stooping; pushing and pulling carts; and lifting. Must possess skill in dealing with public and have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must be able to work rotating shifts and uncommon tour of duty.
