Decision Support Project Specialist jobs in Midland, TX

Decision Support Project Specialist provides technical guidance and solutions to user groups working with decision support software and data tools. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Being a Decision Support Project Specialist delivers user training and coaching to facilitate problem solving and decision making using hardware, software, datamarts, and data warehouses. Plans, coordinates and monitors projects to prepare, test, and deploy decision support tools, reports, dashboards and models to users. Additionally, Decision Support Project Specialist troubleshoots and resolves problems. May have specialized knowledge of a particular software product tool or module that is utilized. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Decision Support Project Specialist is a specialist on complex technical and business matters.     1. Position Summary:

     
    The Divisional Decision Support Analyst assists the department in collecting, monitoring, and reporting data used to evaluate quality of care and performance of selected clinical indicators.  The Analyst assists the Performance Improvement & Service Excellence Departments with data analysis, reporting and special project facilitation.  The Analyst may also perform focused reviews and hospital-wide monitoring. Maintains various Performance Improvement and Service Excellence databases and spreadsheets, and creates reports as requested by the Director of Quality, Director of Service Excellence and Executive Director of Organizational Excellence.  Develops efficient systems for tracking data and generating reports.

     
    1. Qualifications:
     
                A.        Education:                
                           
    Requires an Associates degree with an emphasis on health care, business,
    IT and/or finance.  Experience with a variety of healthcare databases   desired.
     
    1.       Training and Experience:
     
                            Must have solid background in computer hardware, software, networks
                            and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Experience with
                            and an understanding of databases. Excellent written/oral
                            communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with
                            diverse group of people. Extensive understanding of clinical software and
                            Web browser use (Internet Explorer) required in a complex environment
                            History of work experience in clinical environment is required.
     
    C.        Job Knowledge:
     
    Must possess the ability to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of
                            designated projects, with guidance from management, to ensure that
                            goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed
                            parameters. Ability to interpret and apply an extensive variety of technical
                            instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables within the
                            healthcare environment. Requires conscious commitment to the highest
                            standards of customer service. Must be a self-motivated person that can
                            demonstrate a working knowledge of clinical applications and workflow.
                            Must be able to communicate with peers, subordinates and upper
                            management effectively and courteously. Must be able to use sound
    judgment and must demonstrate logical thinking and initiative.
