Decision Support Project Specialist provides technical guidance and solutions to user groups working with decision support software and data tools. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Being a Decision Support Project Specialist delivers user training and coaching to facilitate problem solving and decision making using hardware, software, datamarts, and data warehouses. Plans, coordinates and monitors projects to prepare, test, and deploy decision support tools, reports, dashboards and models to users. Additionally, Decision Support Project Specialist troubleshoots and resolves problems. May have specialized knowledge of a particular software product tool or module that is utilized. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Decision Support Project Specialist is a specialist on complex technical and business matters.     Description

    Job Purpose: Install, configure, maintain, and support the hardware and software systems used in our manufacturing and office environments, and provide technical assistance and training to system users.

    Qualifications:

    • Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 1-3 years of related experience. Note: Additional years of demonstrable related experience may be substituted for a formal degree. Preferred Certifications: CompTIA A , CompTIA Network , and/or CompTIA Security
    • Skills & Abilities: Exceptional working knowledge of computer systems, including networks, servers, and system maintenance. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong time management skills with the ability to respond to incidents and requests quickly and efficiently, while adjusting priorities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

    • Installs, modifies, configures, and repairs computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance to system users.
    • Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and upgrades manufacturing floor computer components, such as labeling equipment, shop floor devices, hand-held terminals, etc.
    • Installs, configures, and troubleshoots computer networks.
    • Installs, configures, monitors, and maintains stand-alone/network printers and/or multi-function devices.
    • Documents standard operating procedures and work.
    • Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers, disk drives, and other similar or related equipment.
    • Loads specified software packages, such as operating systems, standard applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
    • Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation. Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
    • Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
    • Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.
    • Trains users to use new or modified equipment and processes.
    • Monitors functioning of equipment to ensure systems operate in conformance with specifications.
    • Perform Preventive Maintenance on computers, labeling & printing devices, peripherals, etc.

    Training Requirements: New Hire Orientation, Plex ERP

    Level of Authority: None

    Physical Demands: This position requires manual dexterity for typing, sitting at a desk and looking at a computer screen for long periods of time. In addition, portions of the position may require physical activity including lifting 25-30 pounds and standing for extended periods of time.
