Decision Support Project Specialist provides technical guidance and solutions to user groups working with decision support software and data tools. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Being a Decision Support Project Specialist delivers user training and coaching to facilitate problem solving and decision making using hardware, software, datamarts, and data warehouses. Plans, coordinates and monitors projects to prepare, test, and deploy decision support tools, reports, dashboards and models to users. Additionally, Decision Support Project Specialist troubleshoots and resolves problems. May have specialized knowledge of a particular software product tool or module that is utilized. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Decision Support Project Specialist is a specialist on complex technical and business matters.     Job Summary

    This position requires solid people skills, a preference for collaboration, and the ability to apply broad experience and wide-ranging technology skills to a fully online technology environment of 200 users in 20 metro area locations. The job is well-suited for an IT generalist to provide deskside and remote technical support, troubleshoot and solve technical issues, monitor day-to-day operations, manage computer lab hardware, onboard/offboard staff, provide technical assistance for audiovisual systems, respond to end-user questions, and collaborate with the rest of the department and our managed services provider to maintain and improve the technologies used by PPL.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support to end-users (troubleshooting a wide variety of technology issues in‑person and remote, SharePoint technical support, onboarding and provisioning new users, basic cybersecurity support around phishing and social engineering).
    • Conduct general network administration (network and user management, such as creating and provisioning new users, solving printing/printer issues, software licensing, folder/file access, and security in SharePoint Online environment).
    • Execute technical support and maintenance of multimedia and web conferencing systems (system troubleshooting, maintenance, suggesting improvements).
    • Support general phone system administration (minor system management such as unlocking voicemail boxes, resetting passwords, review user configuration).
    • Participate in the deployment and support of new technology services and workflows.
    • Assist with managing the ticketing system for technical support.
    • Maintain technology systems documentation in collaboration with the rest of the IT staff.
    • Collaborate with IT staff to perform the functions and duties of the IT department.
    • Perform other work and assignments as needed.


    Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities

    Minimum Qualifications :

    • Experience with hardware and software support in an office environment and remote users.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Customer service mentality.
    • Ability to deal with competing priorities and time-sensitive issues.
    • Must have a reliable motor vehicle, driver's license, and auto insurance.


    Preferred Qualifications :

    • Knowledge and experience using and supporting SharePoint Online or SharePoint 2019.
    • College degree and/or vocational school experience in any field.
    • Microsoft certifications and willingness to work toward further certifications.
    • Deep experience supporting Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
    • Basic understanding of
      • Network monitoring and troubleshooting
      • Information security
      • PC setup/configuration/troubleshooting/repair
    • Experience with Microsoft Azure AD, Intune, and desktop imaging.
    • Solid teamwork and troubleshooting skills.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Three years of information technology experience in a Windows/Microsoft 365 environment or college/vocational degree in a related field.
    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Two years of customer service experience is preferred.

    PPL's work is now a Hybrid Model. Our Hybrid Model refers to the split between working in the office or onsite at satellite locations (60%) and home (40%) of the time. A 5-day work week equates to three days working in the office and the opportunity to work from home for the other two days.

    Salary: $55,000-$65,000 Yr., DOQ
