    Tracking Code 20212096 Job Description SUMMARY

    This position provides recovery support services for consumers completing residential or outpatient care to the Fairbanks Native Association (FNA)-sponsored Interagency Transition Council (ITC) comprised of a community leadership network of service agencies.

    The Alaska Native Pandemic Project provides crisis intervention services and related recovery support for children, youth, and adults impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Required Skills JOB DUTIES

    • Provides counseling through a variety of treatment procedures, including individual, group, and family therapy that meets Behavioral Health Standards of Care
    • Collaborate with internal and external resources to identify tools and resources for consumers and employers that can be used to expedite efforts
    • Proactively discuss plans with consumers, set expectations, engage the planning, and coordinate participation in a variety of activities designed to prepare them for successful transition into ITC care
    • Assists consumers with paperwork for service entry, as needed
    • Works collaboratively with the ITC to ensure rapid access to support service
    • Provides guidance, crisis intervention, motivational counseling and ensures program policy and procedures are followed
    • Carries case load of 10 consumers
    • Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings, and presents cases for routine / problematic staffing as needed, including participation in interdisciplinary treatment team
    • Provides case management / file documentation in accordance with established standards and submit reports (i.e., required for project reporting, consumer billing, etc.

    • Maintains consumer confidentiality in accordance with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPPA
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

    NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

    • Knowledge of substance use and behavioral health disorders
    • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles, with demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native Populations
    • Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software
    • Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
    • Skill in oral and written communication
    • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees
    • Ability to work independently as well as with teams
    • Ability to be certified as / be able to attain, a chemical dependency counselor within six (6) months of hire

    Required Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

    • Two (2) years in recovery from mental health disorder or substance use disorder
    • One (1) year experience providing culturally specific services
    • Experience in providing direct care / behavioral health services

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

    Additional years relevant experience in human service field with direct care services performing related services
