    Our services are available to individuals and families who live in Sandoval and Bernalillo counties, New Mexico. Our programs include Infant/Toddler Services (early intervention), Autism Services, Respite Services, and Family Living.

    We are looking for a candidate to join our agency full time as a Developmental Specialist to provide NM Family Infant Toddler Program early intervention services to families whose infants and toddlers have developmental delays/disabilities.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Continuous learning, training, development and improvement.
    • Provide in-person, in-home and community-based early intervention services in accordance with NM Family Infant Toddler Program (FIT) and Agency guidelines in Sandoval County communities (Pena Blanca, Placitas, Bernalillo, Rio Rancho, Corrales) and Bernalillo County communities (Ventana Ranch, Eagle Ranch, Paradise Hills).
    • Work as part of a transdisciplinary team with therapists, education and health care providers to help parents/caregivers learn how to support the child’s development during daily routines/activities.
    • Integrate informal assessment, behavioral observation, developmental history, and medical/health information with formal testing information to reflect a holistic view of the child and family based on their strengths and needs. Work as part of a team to analyze and summarize results in a report.
    • Build relationships with each child and family in support of their individual service plan.
    • Consult with therapists and other professional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of early intervention work.
    • Participate in transition conferences to support the family, give recommendations, and provide feedback concerning a child’s strengths and needs.
    • Assist in preparing children for transition at age 3 to special education preschool or community preschools, or other community services.
    • Share pertinent information with supervisor and team members regarding work progress, successes, barriers, concerns and other areas that may have an impact on the program services or image.
    • Conduct community outreach activities to identify potential service recipients.
    • Maintain confidentiality of client information and records as required by HIPAA and FERPA laws, and NM Early Childhood Education and Care Department policies and procedures.
    • Fulfill compliance, reporting and documentation requirements.
    • Demonstrate sensitivity to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual and role differences among children and families served.
    • Monitor and ensure quality assurance requirements.
    • Qualify and obtain required state certifications.
    • Occasional evening and weekend work.
    • Travel within the state.

    Professional Requirements and Qualifications:

    • Unquestioned integrity required.

    • Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills.
    • Superior writing ability preferred.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Flexible.
    • Experience working with young children and families preferred.
    • Computer experience, knowledge of or demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, and other computer programs, as needed.
    • Compliant with all applicable New Mexico Public Health Order requirements.
    • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
    • Valid NM driver’s license, reliable transportation with current automobile liability policy (bodily injury liability minimum must be $100k/300k and 100k property) with continuous coverage.
    • A current professional liability insurance policy with continuous coverage. The agency will reimburse up to $100 per year.
    • Clearing a criminal background check required.

    Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Human Services or another related field.

    Pay: $34,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
