Assists in the preparation, deployment, and delivery of decision support tools to users. Being a Decision Support Specialist analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Decision Support Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Decision Support Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. JOB SUMMARY
The position is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of charge master, various labor productivity and expense benchmarking tools, the development and reporting of financial and statistical data to management, supporting revenue cycle processes such as denial management, and changes and participates in the development of the annual budget. This position will interact with all levels of the organization to ensure a quality understanding of the financial reporting process and how to use related data to impact operational performance. In addition, this position will complete special projects and cost/benefit analysis to assist in business planning. The Decision Support Analyst may be responsible for preparing reports, analyzing data, and presenting analysis findings to department leadership. The analyst must have demonstrated working knowledge and a high-level understanding of data reporting and of revenue cycle operations.
