Deli Counter Clerk jobs in California
Deli Counter Clerk responds and attends to customer requests in the deli department within a grocery store. Responsible for various duties including preparing deli food items, weighing and wrapping deli products, and placing food items in display cases. Being a Deli Counter Clerk has knowledge of proper food handling procedures and government regulations regarding food codes. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Deli Counter Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Deli Counter Clerk may require 0-1 year of general work experience. We are looking for hard working, passionate Counter Clerks to work at our Brentwood store. Required Experience:
- Your number one responsibility is to provide superior customer service. We expect you to treat our customers in a polite, respectful and attentive manner.
- Stock counters, display refrigerators, salad bar and steam table neatly and accurately as per menu.
- Ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively as per standards.
- Display food under appropriate hot or cold conditions as per standards.
- Clean equipment and work station at end of each day. Restock work station as needed.
- Apply knowledge of daily menu items, daily specials and prices. Be able to explain all menu items effectively and accurately to customers.
- Demonstrate proper use of cash register and all cash handling procedures.
