The British Government’s Embassy in Washington DC has an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to join the British Forces Postal Office (BFPO) team as a Part-Time Post Office Counter Clerk. This pivotal role will report directly to the Head of BFPO 2 and provides a high-quality counter service as part of a wider team of 8 motivated individuals. Full training will be provided, but prior postal or point of sale experience is desirable.
The BFPO service replicates most aspects of a Royal Mail Post office including the sale of UK postage stamps, Special Delivery and Signed For services and cash withdrawal using Royal Mail systems. The mission of the BFPO is to support postal services for local Embassy and wider British Defence Staff across North America. This position forms part of the US Network.
