You’ll focus on:
- Transport Ag equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities, including bulk fluids such as oils and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).
- Follow all instructions for pick up, transport and delivery of bulk oils, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), packaged oil and occasionally parts from a central location to customers and/or store locations.
- Proactively communicate delivery times and possible delivery delays to your manager, dispatcher, customers, and store locations as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of pickups and deliveries, obtaining necessary signatures and receipts.
- Maintaining a bulk delivery route to customers’ locations monthly as needed.
- Utilizes True North Equipment’s trucking system requirements to track mileage and load details.
- Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
- Maintain product knowledge on all bulk fluids sold within the dealership’s area of responsibility.
- May haul additional fluids in the future and would need to obtain any required endorsements if needed.
- Obtain the proper permits needed for your trucking operations based on load-specific details.
- Planning out daily travel routes by using routing resources available, while maintaining compliance with weight limits, axle spacing requirements, vehicle dimensions, using caution with narrow roads, low bridges and powerlines.
- Ability to work closely with pilot car drivers and processes as needed to maintain legal equipment hauling requirements.
- Promote and explain bulk fluid program and products to customers during deliveries as needed.
- May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required.
- Supports the Sales and Service departments with equipment delivery and pickup as needed.
- Maintain assigned trucks and related equipment in good clean operating condition, while also reporting/scheduling any necessary repairs.
- Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA, and company policy.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook. This includes securing cargo properly, using appropriate tie-downs and restraints, and complying with hours-of-service DOT regulations to prevent driver fatigue.
- Conduct self in the presence of customers and community to present a professional image of True North Equipment Co.
- Seek and participate in company/location driven training and development, communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a safe, professional and efficient manner.
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday 8-5, seasonally 7:30-5:30, and a Saturday rotation 7:30-noon seasonally as needed based on workload. No overnights
- Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S without company sponsorship.
What we are looking for:
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and current health card with a clean MVR.
- Ability to obtain a tanker endorsement.
- Knowledge of loading and unloading procedures preferred.
- 3 years’ experience semi-trailer truck operator.
- Experience operating & hauling heavy and/or Ag Equipment preferred
- Must be able to drive a forklift.
- Able to load and unload trailers.
- Must meet minimum age requirements by state.
- Must meet True North Equipment driving standards.
- Ability to lift items weighing upwards to 75 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ability to use step ladders to access oil tanks.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and comply with all DOT regulations.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Must be a safe and courteous driver, representing True North Equipment in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently.
- Perform vehicle safety inspections.
- Must be able to drive manual transmission.
- Willing to work overtime hours, including occasional weekends to meet business needs and during our busy season.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
