The Demand Planner determines the best metrics to use to provide the most accurate representation of the forecast. Analyzes inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to determine the amount of finished product that will be produced. Being a Demand Planner may require a bachelor's degree. Works with other departments to determine optimal inventory levels. In addition, Demand Planner typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Working as a Demand Planner typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     The Demand Planning position is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for their customers, incorporating existing reports and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, and finance. The Demand Planner is the integration point into the sales and operations organization. Basic forecast modeling is the responsibility of this position.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development of the demand forecast to be used in consensus planning processes.
    • Proactively seek data insights to improve sales forecast accuracy.
    • Create and maintain unconstrained demand Plans.
    • Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations.
    • Develop actionable insights to cross functional departments.
    • Drive and lead functional team collaboration to develop a consensus plan.
    • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain to assess the potential impact of market trends and demand drivers; Make decisions based upon expected impact to the business and adjust the forecast accordingly.
    • Use demand planning tool to create an effective statistical forecast.
    • Proactively analyze and communicate forecast details for assigned area, including risks, confidence, and opportunities to stakeholders
    • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Supply Chain preferred.
    • 3-5 years experience in a Demand Planning role.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
    • Knowledge of Oracle Demand Planning, SAP/APO, or other software related to demand planning is preferred.
    • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must possess interpersonal and facilitation skills.
    • Must possess advanced Microsoft Office skills, with strong knowledge of Pivot Tables & vlookup.
    • Strong Microsoft Office and computer applications skills.
    • Fishing or Outdoor Industry experience preferred.
