The Demand Planner determines the best metrics to use to provide the most accurate representation of the forecast. Analyzes inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to determine the amount of finished product that will be produced. Being a Demand Planner may require a bachelor's degree. Works with other departments to determine optimal inventory levels. In addition, Demand Planner typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Working as a Demand Planner typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job Purpose
The role incumbent will undertake global demand and supply responsibilities for a number of own produced and third-party product portfolios to ensure service to customers is in line with agreed fulfilment plans.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning:
Run the global planning and forecasting processes for each of the assigned portfolios in cooperation with all stakeholders, incl. commercial, purchasing and operations.
Supply Planning:
Monitor and review replenishment performance (purchased and produced) associated with assigned portfolios and participate in improvement plans.
Inventory planning and management:
Review inventory levels across the business to meet business requirements and minimize the cost to the company. Set targets and maintain all necessary data in the ERP.
All activities involve a strong focus on reporting and measuring KPIs, support failure analysis and improvement activities and managing a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
