Dentist examines and treats diseases and injuries of teeth and gums. Performs preventative and maintenance dentistry and educates the patient in proper tooth and gum care. Being a Dentist recommends braces or surgery to correct any malformations. Requires a doctorate degree in dentistry, either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited school. - Diagnose and treat dental problems including root canals, extractions, and restoration
- Perform dental care treatments including x-rays, fillings, sealants, and cosmetic dental services
- Consult with other dental specialists when necessary
- Supervise staff
- Provide education to patients on oral hygiene and use of orthodontics and dental appliances
- Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines
Qualifications- DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from an ADA accredited dental school is required
- Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry
- Current state license
- Previous experience in clinical or private practice
- CPR, BLS, and NPI certifications
- Deep understanding of dental standards and dental medicine trends
- Excellent bedside manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
