    he City of Atlanta is hiring a Deputy Program Management Officer for Fleet Services. A

    Deputy Program Management Officer is responsible for assisting the Program Management Officer in planning and directing the effective and efficient maintenance, repair, purchase, and disposal of City vehicles and equipment. M

    anager and Supervisory Responsibilities: E

    • nsure that a high-quality service is provided to the Project Management Officer for Fleet Services. A
    • ct as a coordinator between multiple DPW Fleet projects to ensure they benefit each other and align with overall business goals. H
    • andles training of employees, discipline and termination of employees as needed, that assist in the administration of the organization and in accordance with City of Atlanta policy. C
    • onducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. I
    • n addition, the employee supervises a staff of supervisors and other personnel and has overall responsibility for equipment management, assist with program administration, and assist with budget preparation and administration. W
    • ork includes directing the effective and efficient maintenance, repair, purchase, and disposal of City vehicles and equipment, and planning and managing inventory controls, maintenance programs, computerized information systems, fuel systems, special projects, and specifications and standards. D

    uties/Responsibilities: C

    • onnotes the administration of the range of Fleet Services activities belonging to the creation of operational services. R
    • esponsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating the vehicle and equipment maintenance program, preventative maintenance programs and parts inventory; development of long-range plans and programs, determination of compliance with current directives, facility planning and programming. M
    • akes purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines. Applies, interprets, and recommends organizational policies or strategy changes and exceptions. Establishes work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc. M
    • akes budget, planning and policy recommendations; oversee the purchase of supplies and equipment to ensure spending and purchases are within approved budgetary limitations and legal guidelines; participates in long-range planning, capital outlay, improvement projects and annual departmental budget preparation. R
    • esearches and prepares specifications for the purchase of city-owned vehicles and equipment; reviews and makes purchase recommendations on received bids. D
    • evelop programs to support DPW Fleet Service strategic goals, as well as create and manage long term goals. D
    • rive strategic projects including project planning and management for the DPW Fleet Services initiatives and DPW engagement activities. P
    • lans, schedules, supervises, and controls the activities involved in the production of fleet services operations, i.e., the transformation of various resources into a value-added product, in an efficient manner. D
    • evelop budgets and operating plans for programs and writing program funding proposals. A
    • ssists with managing project financials and reporting. M
    • onitor and report various activities and tracking related to delivery. M
    • anages the city’s fuel distribution and oversight of the fuel accounting program. S
    • upervises and coordinates the surplus of city vehicles and equipment. H
    • olds self and others accountable for performance based on the plan. P
    • roduces accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle. E
    • nsures goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance. D
    • evelops and enforces procedures, policies, and safety protocols for all fleet services staff. E
    • nsures Vehicle Specifications are current with industry best practices and best suited for city applications. I
    • n his/her absence, preforms the duties of the Program Management Officer and/or perform other duties assigned by supervisor or manager. R

    equired Skills/Abilities: P

    • roven experience in Program Management, forward looking and proactive approach. The ability to anticipate and address challenges with innovative solutions. E

    • ffective communication skills and interpersonal skills; confident, clear, succinct, and courteous. E
    • xperience using computers for a variety of tasks. C
