Overview
A candidate running for Congress in North Carolina is seeking a Deputy Campaign Manager to join an exciting team conducting aggressive fundraising, communication, and outreach programs. An excellent opportunity to learn and build skills as a political professional: the deputy campaign manager will oversee a wide range of campaign operations, from fundraising and voter outreach to record-keeping and compliance, and will be given additional responsibilities to support the campaign’s political and field operations. The Deputy Campaign Manager will report to the Campaign Manager.
The following job responsibilities are designed to provide an overview of the major duties and responsibilities of this position but are not exhaustive.
Job Responsibilities:
· Serve as the right-hand person to the campaign manager with the interest, ability, and capacity to step into the campaign manager’s shoes as needed
· Develop and execute the campaign’s fundraising plan
· Research donor prospects and prepare and staff candidate call time
· Assist with planning and execution of virtual and in-person fundraising events
· Oversee systems for donor tracking and pledge collection
· Assist communications with social media, clips, research, and outreach.
· Work with the Campaign Manager with some field planning/execution on the ground and planning additional events as needed.
· Go to events/staff events for candidate.
· Partner with the campaign manager on strategy and outreach
· Other relevant responsibilities relevant to a Deputy CM role on a Congressional campaign.
An ideal candidate has:
· A commitment to Democratic politics.
· 2 cycles of experience in political fundraising and campaigns, with a strong track record of success
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong understanding of Excel/Google Sheets and effectively organizing fundraising data
· Detail-oriented with excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
· An ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
· Flexible to take on projects big or small as needed to support the overall campaign
· Team player with a positive attitude that can remain motivated in stressful situations;
· Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including frequent evening and weekend work,
· Experience managing staff and interns.
· Access to a car, laptop, and a cell phone - required.
· Experience with finance is preferred (but not required).
· Candidate must be located in the Mecklenburg/Gaston County area of NC
Compensation: Dependent on experience and agreed hours to be worked.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $2,000.00 - $4,000.00 per month
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
