Design Director directs and oversees CAE technical and team capability to support product, component, or structure design. Provides expertise and technical leadershipfor benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, testing protocols, and optimization utilizing CAE design and analysis techniques and tools. Being a Design Director develops and optimizes CAE methodology, including guidelines and standards, to increase design process efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Design Director typically reports to senior management. The Design Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Design Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. As the Marketing Design Director, you'll report directly to the Executive Creative Director as a creative leader within the newly formed Creative Center of Excellence. You'll be responsible for elevating the practice of marketing communication design, leading a team of designers, motion graphic artists, photographers and illustrators. You must understand the difference between brand consistency and brand continuity, and how to leverage both to direct teams to make informed and intentional design decisions. You should be ready to present work to executive-level stakeholders and represent Rocket at all stages of engagement. You should have a unnatural passion for design and a portfolio that demonstrates your leadership in the creation of work that is – award-winning, evocative, inclusive and culturally relevant. You'll put your obsession with detail and pixel perfect execution to the test while working in partnership with Creative and Content Directors.
