Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (Elder Care/Memory Care)

Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Care Assistant to provide dedicated care for our aging mother. The ideal candidate will have a background in elder care and memory care, as well as a patient and empathetic demeanor. The primary responsibilities will include assisting with daily activities, providing transportation for errands and appointments, scheduling appointments, and offering support as she recovers physically from falls. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring her safety, well-being, and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily living activities, including grooming, bathing, dressing, and medication reminders.
• Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
• Accompany her on errands and appointments, ensuring timely transportation and assistance as needed.
• Schedule and organize medical appointments, keeping track of upcoming appointments and ensuring she attends them.
• Help with household tasks such as light cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Provide memory care support, implementing strategies to aid memory recall and cognitive function.
• Support her physical recovery from falls, offering assistance with mobility and rehabilitation exercises.
• Maintain open communication with family members regarding her condition, needs, and any changes in behavior or health.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in elder care, preferably with a focus on memory care.
• Patience and empathy when working with individuals experiencing memory loss and physical limitations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with the elderly.
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record for transporting her to appointments and errands.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred, but not required.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and provide references.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
