JOB SUMMARY
Builds, executes, and supports company strategy for philanthropy within the WORC community. The role supports, builds capacity and sustainability for the organization. Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing strategies that develops donors, volunteers, contributions, public relations, and community partners that aligns with the guidelines, polices, long term mission and vision of WORC.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- MARKET AND PUBLIC RELATIONS (20%) – Act as a liaison and coordinator for promotional events. Works with strategies for meeting fund development goals and action plans. Provides administrative support for projects and promotional events which may include developing or assisting with writing and editing sales and marketing materials. Prepare and publish company newsletter. Develop public relation articles for internal and external publication including press releases and event announcements.
- WEBSITE MAINTENANCE (10%) – Maintain and update organization’s website, social and digital systems, and platforms to effectively promote Winona ORC.
- GRANT WRITING (25%) – This position is responsible for writing grant requests to foundations, corporations, service clubs, and government agencies, researching and pursuing current and new funding opportunities, managing funder relationships, and assisting with department planning.
- COMMUNICATION (10%) – Work with highly confidential information in a professional manner. Communicate effectively with program participants, volunteers, staff, and other stakeholders. Provide an environment for effective communication, engagement, and cooperation with other departments. The position may require developing and conducting public speaking opportunities centered on promotional events.
- ADMINISTRATION (15%) – Maintain promotional materials and records. Hands on involvement in a variety of marketing and promotional activities with scheduling, ordering, and coordinating promotions to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. Ensures activities and operations and carried out in compliance with all regulatory agencies and with Winona ORC’s mission, vision, and goals.
- FINANCE ASSISTANT (20%) – Calling aging accounts, filing, and assisting with our Director of Finance in the preparation of various budgets. Managing records and receipts. Reconciling daily, monthly, and yearly transactions. Preparing balance sheets, assisting with Audits as needed per the Director of Finance. Adhere to current accounting/finance laws and regulations.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS/STANDARDS
- MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS – Marketing and public relation projects are effectively executed in a timely manner. All aspects of event planning and execution are effectively developed, implemented, and executed.
- WEBSITE MAINTENANCE – Timely and regular maintenance and updating with social and digital platforms promoting Winona ORC’s goals. Knowledgeable computer skills which include word processing, graphic, and digital programs.
- GRANT WRITING – Research is conducted on current and potential funding sources. Grant proposals are prepared and submitted timely. Statistical information regarding grants is tracked, recorded and reported on in a timely manner to immediate Supervisor/Director.
- COMMUNICATION – Effectively uses oral and written communication with staff, employees, funding partners, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficiency and productivity. Utilizes effective interpersonal skills and abilities to motivate funding partners. Ensure confidentiality is maintained in all communications.
- TEAM PARTICIPATION – Attendance is required for all assigned shifts. Meetings are attended as required. Support job sites as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Minimum of an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Language Skills:
Proficient writing, speaking, and communication skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Mathematical Skills:
Able to perform routine math functions
Mental Demands:
Able to perform functions described in core accountabilities with little supervision.
- Able to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
Ability to interpret and execute instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Licensing or Certifications and other requirements
CPR and First Aid certification (given upon employment), valid Driver’s License, and current vehicle insurance
- Abel to pass MNDHS Background study
- Able to pass drug screening and criminal background check
(List any Personal Protective Equipment PPE)
Must use PPE as required or specific for job site or location as assigned. Examples: gloves, safety eyewear, hearing protection, safety shoes, aprons, smocks, masks.
