    This Program Coordinator is a member of Management that helps oversee workforce development programs within the Family Youth and Intervention Department with an emphasis on Washoe Youth Build implementation. As a Work Force Development program coordinator, your primary role is to oversee and manage the various aspects of the workforce programming to ensure successful implementation across several vocational programs. This position serves as the primary link between the programs, the clients, Case Managers, stake holders and partners. This position reports to the Program Manager.

    Duties

    • Program Development & Management: Collaborate with Agency leadership and key stakeholders to assist in developing and designing Workforce Development programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the programs, including creating timelines, providing oversight of program finances, budget tracking, and reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility. Coordinate and supervise program staff, ensuring effective teamwork and adherence to program scope of work and Agency policies and procedures.
    • Recruitment, Outreach, and Community Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to recruit and engage eligible participants for the program. This involves coordinating outreach activities in schools, community centers, and other relevant venues, as well as collaborating with local organizations to identify potential participants. Act as a liaison between the Workforce Development programs and the broader community, engaging community members, organizations, and leaders to promote program visibility, foster support, and create opportunities for program participants.
    • Participant Support: Provide guidance and support services to Case Managers to ensure program participants are receiving necessary resources and assistance to succeed. This may include academic support, career guidance, life skills training, and referrals to community services.
    • Program Implementation and Evaluation: Oversee the implementation of various layers of programming from educational curriculum to work experience opportunities and case management, ensuring they all meet the educational, vocational and basic needs of the participants. Coordinate with instructors and partners to deliver high-quality instruction and monitor participant progress. Collaborate with program evaluators to assess the effectiveness of the Workforce Development programs, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes. Develop, implement, and assess measurable outcomes for the program, ensuring effectiveness.
    • Partnership Development and Compliance: Foster relationships and partnerships with local employers, vocational training institutions, community organizations, and government agencies to create opportunities for participants' career development, job placement, and community service projects. Ensure compliance with program guidelines, regulations, and reporting requirements set by funding agencies and governing bodies.
    • Database Management and Reporting: Input, update, and monitor the program's computerized client database(s) accurately. Complete monthly program reports, conduct program evaluations, and submit reports to the Program Manager and funding sources as required. Disseminate program information through community presentations, outreach functions, and distribution of program materials.
    • Staff Orientation, Support, and Management: Facilitate the onboarding process for new team members, providing them with a thorough orientation to the program. Assist team members in understanding the agency's mission, strategic focus areas, and overall goals, contributing to the success of these areas. Manage the referral and intake processes for the program, ensuring a streamlined and efficient workflow. Support Case Managers, Specialists, and Interns in contacting families, addressing concerns, and fostering positive relationships. Model Effective Communication and Workplace Behavior: Demonstrate and promote appropriate communication and workplace behavior as a role model for the team.
    • Budget Awareness and Related Duties: Under the supervision of the Program Manager, manage line items and/or program budgets to achieve objectives within allocated amounts. Establish annual goals and objectives related to the specific functions of the job. Participate in community boards/committees to ensure the inclusion of the client/provider voice in all activities. Undertake additional duties as assigned in support of program goals.

    • Leadership skills including sound decision-making, crisis management techniques, staff motivation and be a self-motivated team player.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ work experience, which includes program planning, case management, and crisis management experience. Experience in areas such as middle and high school education, work force development, juvenile justice, and family focused supports is preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for the degree.
    • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.

    Stipulations:

    • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work including offsite work locations.
    • Must possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License, and have current insurance for using a personal vehicle for company work;
    • May include being able to lift and carry up to 45lbs; walk up and down stairs; get up and down on the floor; possess fine and gross motor skills;
    • Must be able to navigate off site locations that may include additional safety gear such as construction sites.
    • Requires occasional weekend and evening hours.
    • Requires travel in state and out of state for training and/or home visits.
    • Must complete and pass background check
