  • POSITION SUMMARY
    Position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring effective individualized developmental programs for assigned clients and their families. The incumbent works with individuals in the California Early Start Program for the San Andreas Regional Center.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Provide in-home/ community-based, routines-based intervention for children ages 0-3 years old who have been identified as having or being at risk of developmental delay or disability
    • Coach parents and care providers on strategies and activities to promote development across the five areas of development: physical development, adaptive (self-help) development, cognitive development, speech and language development, and social-emotional development
    • Serve as primary service provider, seeking support and consultation as needed from supervisors and other specialists
    • Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan (Individualized Family Service Plan—IFSP).
    • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports per regulations and timelines
    • Maintain assigned caseload by scheduling all authorized hours, corresponding on noted discrepancies, and communicating any challenges in a timely manner
    • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and their families verbally and in written correspondence
    • Understand and works with the various support systems available in the community, particularly the San Andreas Regional Center
    • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle emotionally charged situations via trauma informed care
    • Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests
    • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment, in compliance with HIPAA regulations
    • Attend staff meetings and trainings
    • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures, including adhering to timelines/ deadlines pertaining to billing and timesheets
    • Other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

    • Ability to write clear, concise reports, computer literate, and able to meet deadlines and other administrative requirements
    • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly
    • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members
    • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the appropriate scheduling requirements
    • Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA laws
    • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to the required standard
    • Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/ word processing software

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

    • Bachelor's degree or at minimum a high school diploma with at least 5 years of experience working with children
    • Must be CPR certified (adult, child, infant, AED) & First Aid
    • Experience working with children and families from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
    • Knowledgeable of developmental milestones, medical and developmental risk factors, developmental disorders, genetic conditions, and other factors that could impact child development
    • Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/ word processing software

    • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to and able to travel between different job sites within a 40-mile radius of your home location
    • Valid California driver’s license, proof of current auto insurance and clean driving record
    • Ability to obtain background clearance
    • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
    • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of positions (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time
    • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection
    • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

    Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
