SUMMARY: The Events & Social Media Coordinator is creative, energetic and innovative, deadline-
driven with strong attention to detail, a love for entertainment planning and social media and a desire to
succeed. Responsible for oversight of all aspects of event planning along with implementation of social
media strategy. The Events & Social Media Coordinator will organize all details, including booking the
venue, planning food service, promotion, entertainment, decorations, transportation, and staffing for the
day of the event. Assist with on-site/off-site community events and support sponsored festivals. The
Events & Social Media Coordinator has a sound understanding of social media platforms, new
technologies – and how they can be adopted and applied to social media strategies. Create content based
on trends and provide critical social media support to all departments to ensure a compelling messaging is
distributed in a timely manner through appropriate channels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
· Accurately track all event expenses and prepares expense summaries and reports.
· Coordinates approved events with emphasis on quality, as well as remaining within budget.
· Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments.
· Accurately tracks and communicates event plans to all departments.
· Communicates event schedule and details to the property, including internal collateral distribution and conducting meetings for planning and communication.
• Possess strong experience and understanding of Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, YouTube;
• Develops engaging social media copy and accompanying graphics and videos;
• Copy and graphics are toned appropriately within brand, audience, and platform, free from grammatical or spelling errors and professionally rendered;
• Monitors PTDC social media channels for discussions and opportunities for engagement and responds with appropriately toned and timely messages;
• Excellent organizational and project coordination skills;
• Excellent copywriting and editing skills;
• Basic graphic design (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator) and video editing skills;
• Provides administrative support for the department as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s or associate degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field is preferred. A combination of education and/or professional experience in event planning, social media, communications, marketing, or public relations will be accepted.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to successfully complete the background check and licensing process, required by the Pawnee Nation Gaming Commission.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to employees, patrons, management, and directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be a team player with a positive, upbeat attitude and exceptional people skills. Must be able to work a flexible and irregular schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must have a solid understanding of and passion for connecting with audiences via social media. Must maintain professional behavior at all times. Must adhere to all department and company policies.
