Position: Full-Time Dietitian

Facility: Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Shift: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Salary: up to $80,000

Job Description:

• Coordinate food service activities with various departments such as Nursing, Environmental, Activities, and Social Services.
• Interpret and communicate Food Services Department policies and procedures to employees, residents, and relevant entities.
• Perform administrative tasks including form completion, reporting, and evaluations to maintain equipment and supplies control.
• Assist in identifying and rectifying food service deficiencies, developing corrective action plans as needed.
• Contribute to residents' discharge plans by planning the food services portion.
• Participate in state and federal surveys as directed.
• Develop methods to assess food quality and quantity.
• Maintain informative progress notes and ensure adherence to menu standards.
• Foster communication with families and residents, maintaining a liaison.
• Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate in menu planning and scheduling.
• Review and ensure compliance of diet plans with physician orders.
• Assist in resident admission assessments and planning dietary care plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings for food service program planning.
• Serve on committees as appointed and provide necessary reports.
• Evaluate and implement recommendations from committees.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality control measures.
• Ensure uninterrupted daily food services through coordination with other departments.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining infection control guidelines.
• Participate in Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS) completion and care planning.
• Develop written dietary plans of care based on assessments.
• Encourage resident and family involvement in care planning.
• Monitor adherence to dietary care plans and address any deviations.
• Ensure provision of substitute foods for residents refusing meals.
• Assist in scheduling assessments and care plan meetings.
• Ensure food service personnel awareness of resident rights and handle complaints/grievances appropriately.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics from an accredited institution.
• Supervisory experience in healthcare or related settings.
• Training in cost control, food management, and diet therapy.
• Current, unencumbered active license to practice as a dietitian in the state of New Jersey.
