Dietitian reviews physicians diagnosis and designs and implements therapeutic nutritional care plans for patients utilizing general dietetic standards and regulations. Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Being a Dietitian educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans. Administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Additionally, Dietitian requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The Dietitian gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     This position is responsible for developing, coordinating and directing all aspects of quality, cost effective, outcome-oriented clinical nutrition care under minimum supervision. Assists in the management of PIPS' nutritional resources. Responsible for decisions and judgments affecting patients total nutrition care. Facilitates improvement in patient's nutrition status to reduce complications and lower the risk of harm to the patient. Assists the pharmacists in managing the TPN patients. Clinical monitoring of enteral patients.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree Nutrition or Dietetics

    • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Dietitian Certification Or

    • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Washington Nutritionist Certification

    • Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration

    • 1 year Hospital or home care experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in enteral/parenteral nutrition.

    • Pediatric, adult and geriatric experience.

    • Development of nutrition related forms and policies and procedures.

    Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

    HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses.
