Dietitian, Sr. reviews physicians diagnosis and designs and implements therapeutic nutritional care plans for patients utilizing general dietetic standards and regulations. Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Being a Dietitian, Sr. educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans. Administers and advises food service operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans. Additionally, Dietitian, Sr. may supervise less experienced dieticians. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Dietitian, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. A Dietitian, or Registered Dietitian, creates nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of residents. Their main duties include analyzing residents' health status, goals, and dietary restrictions, tracking residents' dietary intake and progress, and educating residents on how to maintain a balanced diet. The role also includes providing person-centered care, as their dietary plans often involve speaking with the resident to determine their food and dining preferences.
Roles and Responsibilities for the Registered Dietician Include:
Must have Educational and Professional Requirements Completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a US regionally accredited university or college and course work accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
